A lottery supporting young workers’ rights
I don't normally buy lotto tickets, but I'm happy to support the Workers Lottery. They're doing genuine good to stop young workers being ripped off. — Betty, retired union member, Canberra
About the Workers Lottery
The Workers Lottery is run on behalf of UnionsACT, the peak body representing unions in the Canberra Region.
UnionsACT recognised the need to tackle the worsening wage-theft crisis, and support young workers who have their wages stolen by their boss. The Workers Lottery was created to provide a secure funding source for UnionsACT’s Young Workers Centre.
The Young Workers Centre provides information and support to young workers facing issues at work, and runs campaigns to stop wage-theft from taking place.
I was afraid of talking to my supervisor about a problem with my pay, but with the help of the Young Workers Centre, I was able to get paid everything I was owed! — Justine, young worker, 22 y.o.
